Dear Sirs,

I have read your post in Annoyances.org related to STOP 0x00000050 (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA) in Windows XP SP1 and I wonder if you have any additional information concerning the problem. I am fighting with this problem 5 months already but still not success.

I experience a stop event (BSD)

*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xE10E1004, 0x00000000, 0xBF895914, 0x00000001)
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Parameter 1 - virtual address which cause the fault: 0xE10E1004

Parameter 2 - type of operation: 0x00000000 (read)

Parameter 3 - instruction address, referenced the address in parameter 1: 0xBF895914

Parameter 4 – info from kernel: 0x00000001

The win32k.sys at address 0xBF80CDDB base at 0xBF800000, date stamp 3d6de5e5 cause the STOP.

The STOP occurs when I restart the PC. I get the logo of Windows XP at starting. Then the screen became black for a while and then I get the STOP. Very rare the STOP happens when I log off.

This happens not every time but from time to time and when I restart the PC. In the other hand the system works stable.

I have mini memory dump of this STOP.

I have read everything which I found into Internet related to this STOP – nothing works for me. Also I check the Microsoft Site but I have no problem neither with USB device nor scanner.

The problem happens on three absolutely different systems (as supplier and as hardware). Also the PCs are brand new ones. I check the memory and disk hundreds of times – no errors! Also the PCs have different size of memory. The CPU was:

- Pentium 4 3,06 MHZ (Hyper Threading)

- AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2100+

- Pentium Centrino at 1.6MHZ

Video hardware was:

- ATI

- NVIDIA

- Intel

Also every time I use the latest video driver available.

My installed windows is MS Windows XP SP1 Version v5.1 Build 2600.xpsp1.020828-1920.

After upgrade with the last critical updates (hotfixes) it became MS Windows XP SP1 Version v5.1 Build 2600.xpsp2.030516-0318.

I my opinion this happens in some combination between software and hardware but I am sure that the problem is into WINDOWS XP SP1!

Also when I make the experiments I install just Windows XP and nothing else! I install the windows which comes on CD.

Thank you in advance.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Best Regards,
Svetozar Yolov
